David has over a thirty years of experience in commercial and residential real estate matters, including conveyances, leasing, for-profit and non-profit development projects, and commercial lending.

His practice focuses on a broad array of commercial and residential real estate transactions and general corporate matters.  He is actively involved in the representation of non-profit developers of affordable housing, having handled the closings for the creation or rehabilitation of over a thousand affordable housing units.  His other work with non-profit organizations includes the development of facilities for vocational training, substance abuse rehabilitation, and transitional housing for the homeless and for victims of domestic violence.

David currently serves as the Chair of the Northampton Zoning Board of Appeals and formerly served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hampshire Regional YMCA.  He has been a member of the Property Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association and a Trustee of the Forbes Library in Northampton, and is a former Director of the New Century Theatre and the Nonotuck Community Child Care Center.  A commercial pilot with an Airline Transport Pilot license, David is also an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor.

David was the recipient of the 2012 Massachusetts Bar Association Community Service Award and the 2008 Forbes Library Trustees’ Award. 

A graduate of Northampton High School, David holds a bachelor's degree with honors from Yale University and received his law degree from the University of Connecticut School of Law.  A Life Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, David is admitted to the Massachusetts and Connecticut bars.  David and his family live in Northampton.
