Our Team
Frederick U. Fierst, a founding Partner in the firm, has been a lawyer for over 45 years in connection with television, feature films, licensing and merchandising and interactive media. He practiced corporate and entertainment law in New York City for several years before moving to Northampton in 1980 and establishing the firm. During the 1980s Fred enjoyed a general practice which included everything from sophisticated corporate transactions to murder cases, torts, and divorces. Since the late 1980s, Fred's practice has been concentrated in representing clients in the entertainment and licensing industries within which he has developed an international reputation and clientele, particularly in connection with children’s programming, software, and interactive media.

David C. Bloomberg joined the firm in 2012 and is a Partner. David has over thirty years of experience in commercial and residential real estate matters, including conveyances, leasing, for-profit and non-profit development projects, and commercial lending. His practice focuses on a broad array of commercial and residential real estate transactions and general corporate matters. He represents many local banks and regional developers, handles hundreds of residential real estate closings each year, and is often the lead attorney on major regional commercial deals and developments. He is also an agent for several of the major title insurance companies. Aside from his work on behalf of for-profit entities and individuals, David represents many of the developers of non-profit affordable housing in the Pioneer Valley, having handled the closings for the creation or rehabilitation of over one thousand affordable housing units.

Hun Ohm, managing partner, joined the firm in July 2006 and is involved in the firm's entertainment and intellectual property practice. His focus includes advising video game, film and television entertainment companies and other intellectual property holders and businesses in connection with a wide variety of transactional matters, including video game development, publishing and distribution deals, merchandising and licensing deals, agency deals, co-production and shopping deals, options and rights deals, book publishing deals, television and feature film deals, strategic partnerships, and other business transactions.

Nicholas Grimaldi, managing partner, joined the firm in 2014 and is involved in the firm’s corporate and real estate departments. He is focused on corporate transactions, real estate and secured lending, entertainment and interactive media law, creditor’s rights, and commercial matters. His expertise includes advising and assisting clients in buying and selling businesses, commercial and residential real estate transactions, bank financing, mergers, acquisitions, other corporate contracts and agreements, and private offerings of securities.

Susan L. Cooper joined the firm in 2014 and is a partner in the firm’s corporate business practice. She has more than 30 years of experience representing businesses of all types and sizes, from sole proprietors to international corporations. Her primary areas of practice include transactional matters such as business purchases and sales, contract review and negotiation, entity formations and reorganizations, commercial lending and employment law. Susan first practiced corporate and employment law at an international law firm in New York City. After moving to the Pioneer Valley in 1992, Susan handled business, employment, real estate and banking matters at another established firm in western Massachusetts. Prior to joining the firm, she served as senior counsel and assistant corporate secretary for a Fortune 500 global health insurance organization in Connecticut.

Daniel L. Fierst joined the firm in 2015 and is a partner in the firm’s entertainment practice. A graduate of Northampton High School, Daniel earned his B.A. degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder before moving to California in 2006. Between 2006-2009, he worked directly with the president of Paradox Entertainment Inc. in Beverly Hills as a licensing coordinator of toys, books, games, and film rights. Daniel returned to the Bay State in order to attend the inaugural class at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth School of Law where he represented the school at the Jessup International Law Moot Court competition. Upon his graduation from law school in 2013, Daniel went on to work as in-house counsel for Wargaming.net in its Austin, TX location where he provided legal support to Wargaming’s operations

Peter T. Lane joined the firm in 2017 and is a partner in the firm’s litigation practice. He focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation, including commercial litigation, landlord-tenant law, and civil rights. Peter is committed to helping people defend against criminal charges, obtain compensation for violations of their civil rights, protect their assets and enforce their contractual rights in the marketplace. He regularly litigates housing court matters on behalf of landlords and large property managers and counsels local business owners on their legal needs. In criminal matters, he has successfully guided clients through the court process to receive the justice they deserve, including acquittal of charges through trial. Peter is also an experienced Federal Court practitioner where he represents individual and corporate clients in various litigation matters.

Mae Stiles joined the firm in 2019 and is a partner in the firm’s litigation practice. A Northampton native, she has over 15 years of experience and has worked for major New York and San Francisco law firms in complex commercial litigation, including antitrust and intellectual property matters, as well as a wide variety of business, corporate and licensing transactions.

Jeffrey M. Siegel joined the firm in 2022 and is a partner in the firm’s Trusts and Estates practice. Jeffrey has been advising clients and their businesses for more than thirty years and focuses his areas of practice to those in which he has a passion, experience and expertise, including assisting individuals with their needs in Estate Planning, Tax Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, representing community financial institutions and corporate law.
